Scope
This policy applies to professional services provided by Rashid LLC — including custom software development, AI automation, web application development, backend engineering, cloud and DevOps work, SaaS development and technical consulting.
Where a signed Engagement Agreement contains different cancellation or refund terms, those terms apply to that engagement.
Nature of the services
Our services are custom professional services delivered over time, not a standardised product. Fees are earned as work is performed, and deliverables are produced specifically for each client.
Deposits and upfront payments
Projects typically begin with a deposit that reserves delivery capacity and covers initial discovery and architecture work.
- If you cancel before any work has commenced, the deposit is refunded in full.
- If you cancel after work has commenced, the deposit is applied against work performed to the date of cancellation, and any remaining balance is refunded.
- Deposits are non-transferable to another party without our written agreement.
Cancelling a project in progress
Either party may cancel an engagement by written notice. On cancellation:
- You are invoiced for work completed up to the cancellation date, plus any non-cancellable third-party costs already committed on your behalf.
- Amounts already paid that exceed that total are refunded.
- Where amounts paid are less than the total, the balance is due on the final invoice.
- On settlement of the final invoice, completed work and relevant access are handed over to you.
Milestone-based projects
Where fees are structured around milestones, a completed and accepted milestone is non-refundable. Cancellation part-way through a milestone is settled on the basis of work performed within that milestone.
Retainers and ongoing support
Monthly retainers and support agreements may be cancelled with the notice period stated in the Engagement Agreement — typically 30 days.
- The current period is payable in full and is not refunded on a partial-month basis.
- No charge is made for periods after the notice period ends.
- Unused hours within a retainer period do not carry forward unless expressly agreed.
Consulting sessions and reviews
Fixed-fee consulting sessions, architecture reviews and assessments may be rescheduled or cancelled without charge with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations with less notice, or non-attendance, may be charged in full.
Once a written assessment or review has been delivered, the fee is non-refundable.
Third-party costs
Cloud hosting, domains, software licences, API usage and other third-party costs incurred on your behalf are not refundable by us and are subject to the respective provider's own terms.
If the work is not right
If a deliverable does not meet the agreed specification, tell us. We will correct defects in delivered work at no additional cost where the issue falls within the agreed scope and is reported within the warranty period stated in the Engagement Agreement.
Our first response to a problem is always to fix it. Refunds are considered where a defect cannot reasonably be remedied.
How to request a cancellation or refund
Send a written request to contact@rashidllc.com including your company name, the project or engagement concerned, and the reason for the request.
We acknowledge requests within 3 business days and aim to resolve them within 10 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Disputes
We would rather resolve a disagreement directly than through a payment dispute. If you are unhappy with any aspect of an engagement, contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly once raised.
